Welcome Programme to honour Nepalese Cricket Team
The Embassy of Nepal in London organised a grand reception on Tuesday, 12th July 2016 to welcome and honour Nepalese Cricket Team who have arrived in London to play friendly cricket match with Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) at Lordís on Tuesday, 19th July 2016.
Presenting best wishes to Nepalese Cricket Team for match, the Charge dí Affaires a.i., Mr. Sharad Raj Aran also highlighted about the cricket event which is being organised as part of series of event to celebrate Nepal-UK bicentenary relationship. He mentioned that this match has already been great event for all the Nepalese people and stated his hope that this event will be very effective for deepening Nepal-UK relationship even stronger and closer. Focusing on having significant opportunity for Nepalese Cricket team to play with MCC, Captain of Nepalese Cricket Team, Mr. Paras Khadka also expressed his few words thanking Lordís, MCC, Embassy of Nepal and all incorporated team who worked for making this match successful.
The MCC Assistant Secretary (cricket) Mr. John Stephenson also expressed his few words and gave the best wishes to Nepalese cricket team for the 19th July match. Non-Resident Nepalese Association UK (NRNA UK) President, Sub-coordinator of Main Committee, Mr. Muchhetra Gurung and Dr. Raghav Prasad Dhital, Order of the British Empire (OBE) also expressed few word and wished all the best for the players.
During the programme, representative from various Nepalese organisation, diasporas, prominent persons presented Khada to Nepalese Cricket players to honour them. The profit remained after selling the Nepal Vs MCC Cricket match t-shirts was handed to Nepalese Cricket Team by Charge dí Affaires a.i., Mr. Sharad Raj Aran and Mr. Deepak Shrestha, Finance Coordinator. In response, the Captain, Mr. Khadka thanked for the donation and assured all of these money will be used for the welfare of Nepalese Cricket Team. On the other hand, representative from various Nepalese organisation, diasporas and prominent persons also handed some donation to two Nepalese World Tour Cyclists to make their travel successful.
The programme was conducted by Attachť of Embassy, Mr. Tejendra Regmi. Before initiating the programme, Nepalese national anthem was played. The programme was followed by drinks and typical Nepalese dinner.
The MCC Assistant Secretary, Mr. John Stephenson, representative from FCO, Nepalese Organisation, diasporas and various prominent dignitaries were presented at the reception.
